Meet Dr. Fox
Dr Joanna Fox established Fox Family Dental in 2018. She has been practicing general dentistry in Cumberland County since 2013, and she has fallen in love with Southern Maine. Dr Fox’s interest in dentistry and oral health promotion dates back to her youth in Canada.
Dr Fox grew up in Woodstock, New Brunswick. She obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. While studying at UNB she was a leading member of the Women’s Varsity Reds basketball team. She thoroughly enjoyed the athletic competition and lasting friendships made while playing for the V-Reds.
Dr. Fox is a proud citizen of both the United States and Canada. After finishing up at UNB, she moved to the United States to attend Tufts University School of Dental medicine in Boston, MA. This is where she learned the fundamentals of general dentistry, and she gained valuable experience treating complex patients. Living in the city had left Dr. Fox longing for the wide-open spaces of Maine. She and her husband Dr. Brett Brayley moved to Portland in 2013. They have a lovely Goldendoodle named Stella who also enjoys exploring the outdoors. Dr. Fox has found her new home in Maine as she enjoys lots of dog walking, snowshoeing, boating, and golfing.
Fox Family Dental is the ideal place for Dr. Fox as it allows her to focus on providing her patients with individualized, prevention based, quality dental care. She is an empathetic, honest, and quality provider, which helps to reduce anxiety and build trust. Dr. Fox is looking forward to continuing to grow Fox Family Dental and to meeting you!

Dr. Brett Brayley
Dentist
Dr. Brayley was born and raised in Steep Falls, Maine. He was an undergraduate at the University of Maine Orono where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. His dental training was completed at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. His time in Boston was appreciated as Dr. Brayley thoroughly enjoys sports, including watching his favorite team, the Celtics. However, he always knew he would return home to Maine to practice dentistry. Outside of dentistry Dr. Brayley enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife Joanna and their goldendoodle Stella, playing golf, participating in triathlons, boating and traveling.
Valerie Floyd
Isabelle Cyr
Dental Hygienist
Isabelle was born in Montreal, Canada and has lived in Maine since 1981. She was raised in Biddeford where she graduated from Biddeford High School. She grew up in a bilingual home, which has allowed her to maintain a strong base in both English and French. Isabelle attended the University of New England for Dental Hygiene. Since graduating in 1999, she has been happily practicing in the South Portland area.
Isabelle continues to reside in Biddeford with her two children, Mitchell and Madelyn, who bring her great joy and keep her on her toes. She loves to travel and enjoys the beach, which makes Aruba a favorite vacation spot for her and her family. Whether it’s swimming in the summer or skiing in the winter, Isabelle loves the outdoors in Maine. She also has a passion for photography and can be found taking photographs of the beautiful Maine scenery, as well as her patients’ teeth.
Isabelle is thrilled to be joining the team at Fox Family Dental, and we are so excited to have her as well.
Erin Hobson
Dental Hygienist
Erin is a Vermont native that moved to Maine in 2017. She graduated from Vermont Technical College in 2014 and has been practicing dental hygiene since. She is passionate about helping her patients achieve excellent oral health.
Erin enjoys spending time with her partner and dog exploring Maine. She also loves to travel, bake, and practice yoga in her free time.
Alyssa Titus
Dental Hygienist
Alyssa, a Florida native who grew up in southern New Hampshire, moved to Maine in 2018. She was drawn to all the outdoor activities Maine has to offer as well as the food and music scene in downtown Portland. She is excited to be establishing her roots here and knows Maine will be her forever home. Alyssa lives in Gorham with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Jyn.
Dental hygiene has always been a passion of Alyssa’s. She loved going to the dentist since her first-ever visit and starting in high school would stick around the dental office after her appointments. She has been working as a dental hygienist since graduating from Ohio State University in 2015. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is working with patients to overcome their dental anxieties. Alyssa is thrilled to be a part of the Fox Family team.
Tessa Bisson
Dental Assistant
Tessa was born and raised in Southern Maine. She has been in the dental field since 2018 and in that short amount of time has received accreditations as a CDA and EFDA. She enjoys the artistry of placing aesthetic restorations and helping patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles.
While she is not in the office, Tessa enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon; their son, Sebastion; and their dog, Bentley. She also enjoys crocheting, reading and gaming – and occasionally she will attempt to fish or golf with her husband!
Tessa is extremely excited to be the newest member of Fox Family Dental and is looking forward to being a part of your dental journey.
